Establishing an ocarina group is easy. Any number of beginners can play together in unison on plastic OC or ceramic Altos. Rounds and harmonies in Play your ocarina music books encourage two-part performing after just a few sessions. As skills develop, add Mini and Bass ocarinas to extend the range of your group up and down an octave to expand the 2- and 3-part arrangements in the books.
Encourage and enliven your group with orchestral, keyboard, folk and rock backings on the Play your Ocarina CDs, or use the guitar chords to accompany your group. To add variety and breadth, include violins, flutes and other instruments alongside ocarinas; this will give your ocarina choir a truly orchestral feel. They can even play from the same music in the books!
Whether you are working with infants in class or with advanced musicians in consort, the ocarina is the perfect group instrument. Your audiences will be surprised and delighted at your group’s heartwarming sound!

“The ocarina was my first musical instrument at the age of four. Twenty years later, I now have a music degree and am teaching the ocarina to whole classes – thank you Ocarina Workshop."
